There are a lot of hikes to like in Washington State. Deep Creek Canyon Loop in Spokane’s Riverside State Park is an easy 4.5-mile walk that begins up a side canyon from the Spokane River and features an array of wildflowers. Liberty Lake Loop in Spokane Liberty Lake County Park goes about 7.5 miles and will take you up Liberty Creek and along a hillside through the park. The 4-mile Juniper Dunes Loop is located in the Juniper Dunes Wilderness in Pasco, WA (6 miles northeast of Kennewick) where you’ll encounter the state’s largest grouping of western juniper trees.

Wine Tasting in Washington State


Washington State grows some of the finest grapes for some of the best wine your palate will ever have the pleasure of tasting. Located just east of downtown Spokane, Washington, Latah Creek is renowned in the Pacific Northwest for its truly special Merlot. The Caterina Winery in Spokane’s historic Broadview Dairy Building is popular for its Chardonnay and summer tours. Canyon Lakes in Kennewick, WA has not only been rated the finest course in the Tri-Cities area, but it tied for top honors in the state. Horn Rapids Golf Course in Richland, Washington (10 miles northwest of Kennewick) is an 18-hole championship desert course with five sets of tees that range from nearly 7,000 yards to more than 5,000 yards.

Mountain Biking in Washington State


Mountain bikers will find the Evergreen State has a superb supply of trails. Covering nine miles, Bowl and Pitcher Upstream Trail is about five miles northwest of downtown Spokane and tracks an incredibly picturesque part of the Spokane River. State Patrol Trails in Kennewick, Washington total a little more than four miles and offer a moderate degree of difficulty. Badger Canyon Loop in Richland (10 miles northwest of Kennewick) features 30 miles of rural, recreational, trails. Finley Hills near Kennewick is known for having many of the best single-track trails the Tri-Cities area.

Anchored by Macy’s, JC Penney, and Sears, Spokane Valley Mall in Spokane, WA is also home to such remarkable retailers as Aeropostale, Gap Kids, Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, and COCO. A great place to find some really terrific deals is Broadmoor Park Outlet Mall in Pasco, Washington (6 miles northeast of Kennewick). Outlet stores include Bass Shoe, Big Dogs, Book Warehouse, and Factory Brand Shoes. Peruse charming antique shops in Kennewick, WA, which boasts several antique malls, including Depot Antiques Mall and Old Roxy Theater Antiques & Gifts.

Riverfront Park

Browne’s Addition Historic District


A visit to Spokane, WA would not be complete without seeing Browne’s Addition Historic District. Named after one of the area’s first settlers, Browne’s Addition features magnificent tree-lined streets and many must-see homes. Discover a bevy of bungalows, a plethora of prairie-Victorian mansions, and plenty of prairie-style residences. A good portion of these stylish homes were built in the late 1800s. Highlights include Patsy Clarke's Mansion (now an inn) and the Glover Mansion, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Bring the kids with you to Spokane, Washington and they will not be bored, especially if you bring them to the Wonderland Family Fun Center.
