“Worst Stay Ever.”

  , Atlanta, Georgia
I travel for work and stay in 2 hotels per week on average. This hotel was the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. I was surprised my boss booked me a Wingate - usually the corporate cost restrictions keep me at the Baymont Inn level - that should've been a huge red flag. First of all when I checked in I was greeted by a woman in her thirties trying to relive her twenties in a graphic tee-shirt that espoused what an attitude she had and not to mess with her (Wyndham official uniform?) She lived up to her tee-shirt slogan and I just tried to get away from her and her chewing gum-popping as soon as possible. I was sorta impressed with the "bamboo flooring" (it's a laminate but I'll get back to the floors in a minute). Upon walking into the room there were several pubes (yep!) on the bathroom floor. I was working an overnight and didn't bother to complain since I really wasn't going to be there and they were in the corner. This hotel uses a satellite service for television. During a minor storm it went out completely. Once it got quiet, I noticed that I could hear the conversation of the family in the room next to me verbatim (ditto during late night and early morning when the tv was off). This is due to the echo caused by their crap laminate flooring in the rooms. No matter, I decided to take a shower and head into work. Using their towels after my shower was like rubbing sandpaper onto my skin. They have the nerve to advertise "premium towels", I've had nicer towels at the Econolodge! When my boss made the reservations she made sure that late check out would not be a problem since I was working overnight. I arrived back at the hotel at 6am and checked with the clerk to make sure it wasn't a problem. The idiot kid running the desk looked at me like I had a horn growing out of my head when I asked. Eventually after a minute of discussion and pointing out this was prearranged he agreed to a 1pm checkout. I grabbed the "hot breakfast", i.e. runny, gray, microwaved "eggs" and grey, microwaved "sausage" that had to be either soy or turkey based, based on the grainy, weird texture and headed up to my room to sleep for a couple hours. The maids began their "work" at 9am with 10 of them laughing and carrying on just outside my door in my room that echos all sounds. Unless you don't need a room for sleep I HIGHLY suggest staying ANYWHERE else (seriously your car would be preferable to this crap-hole). The beds really suck too (old!)
