“Vacationing in Voorhees, New Jersey”

My family stay in the Wingate Inn when we visit our family in Cherry Hill. We typically stay for extended periods of time ranging from 7 - 10 days for a minimum of 3 times per year. We always book the "suite" room, which is a room in a "L" shape. There is a king size bed in the alcove area and then a hide-a-bed in the living room area; this is where our son sleeps. Each time we check in, there always seems to be problems that need to be resolved. It's as if the rooms are not properly verified when someone checks out to ensure everything is functional. For example, during this stay, the hide-a-bed was totally broken. The frame at the head of the bed was not attached to the rest of it so in essence, the head of the bed was at a lower level than the rest of the bed so if you laid down your head would be lower than the rest of the bed. The chair placed at the desk was broken. It was a chair that you could adjust the height of the seat, but that was broken and remained at the lowest level possible. Then, the safe in the room was locked so we did not have access. We were 3 people in the room but we only had sets of towels for 2 people. Needless to say, we were able to get the hotel to remove the hide-a-bed the following day, so our son had to manage sleeping on a broken bed for 1 night. We were able to get a new desk chair that functioned properly, the safe was unlocked so we could use it and we managed to get extra towels so we could all shower. Even though all the problems were resolved, by us informing the staff of the condition of the room items, this should not have happened if the room was properly maintained and checked following each reservation check-out. You may ask why we stay there if we have so many complaints, well, it's because of 2 reasons. The location is good and there is an indoor pool so we can go swimming year-round. The complimentary breakfast is adequate. There were always hot egg-type meals with potatoes and a form of meat (bacon, ham, sausages). However, the Belgian waffle maker was not working properly and the toaster did not toast properly.
