“We were at hotel for 2 weeks because of flood damage to our...”

We were at hotel for 2 weeks because of flood damage to our home. The hotel is very close to where we live so it was very convenient. We really liked the continental breakfast every morning. We also attended the Wednesday reception and Ronaldo went out of his way to make us feel welcome! We used the pool, hot tub and workout room and all were very nice although the pool could have been a bit warmer for swimming. We had a junior suite which was very roomy and had a sink, cupboards, micro and mini fridge, so we could bring a toaster, utensils, etc from our home. We found the hotel to be quiet. Weekends were busy! The second week we were there was Spring Break so the pool was very busy and we were not able to swim on 3 occasions. As mentioned to the front desk staff it would be nice to have an hour a day reserved for "adult" swim (9-10 pm). We have to mention Helen and Ronaldo at the front desk as they went out of their way to be friendly and helpful whenever needed. Being there two weeks we saw a few front desk staff and they were by far the friendliest. Helen was so nice, always had an hello and conversation. We travel a lot in Western Canada and we have met all kinds of front desk staff and we feel she ranks up there with the best!, We never were made to think we were bothering her with our queries! The cleaning staff were also very pleasant and helpful. When we left, after the two weeks, and paid our bill at the front desk we were a bit disappointed at the lack of a "thank you" (two weeks in a junior suite is not cheap); no "good bye", etc. You are in the hospitality industry and staff should be taught what we think are basic pleasantries with their customers (this was a very young staff member and maybe new?). But other than that the rest of the staff were great. We never had any issues with our room and if we needed any extra towels, etc. they were brought immediately. Kudos to the cleaning staff who kept our room nice and clean and tidy for us!
