“New management?”

While the hotel appeared okay and my stay overall had few issues you have moved from preferred status to just one of several choices. Previously I had been made to feel special so my travel arrangements were made for the Wyndham instead of the other competing local choices.Previously as a rewards program member I had those little extras such as a snack on the counter or the gift bag in the room and decaf coffee available in the lobby. This visit all of these amenities were absent. Interestingly I had a conversation with the young lady at the desk after visiting my room. I asked about the lack of any snacks, bags or decaf coffee. She had told me that they were booked full for a few days and that is why they didn't have these items available. This answer still makes no sense to me and is the opposite of what you would expect to happen. She did offer to get me a gift bag out of the back which I declined as it wasn't the bag but the principle of receiving the bag. If it was to be given it should have been in the room or given when I checked in. There were no customers at the desk during check in or my return conversation so being busy with customers was not part of the issue.The clerk had also told me that there was a medical incident with the manager that while unfortunate should not impact the previous readiness of the rooms.
