“Wondeful room, great price, terrible service”

The staff member was friendly when I first arrived. I went to my room (on a cold, snowy night) to find the room at under 40 degrees. After trying to warm the room up for a bit I called to the front desk. He asked me if I turned the heat on--a fair question in and of itself, but his tone was extremely rude. I told him that I had, and that the temp had only increased 4 degrees in 45 minutes. I asked him to come to the room to see if he could fix it. He said he couldn't do anything about it. He said "I will just move your room". I asked him to look first (I didn't want to pack up if I could help it). I asked him to look to see if there was something I had missed, and I hung up with the impression that he was coming up.30 minutes later I called down again (virtually no change in temp) and told him to just give me a new room since he wasn't coming up. He said "I never said I would". I went down, got the new key which he gave me without saying anything and immediately turned away to speak to someone else.The next day I asked to speak to the manager. I mentioned not only what I found to be incredibly rude behavior (if he had been too busy to check the unit, just say so, and drop the rude tone!), but also suggested that they might want to have someone check the rooms they are planning to use when the temp is that extreme outside to make sure the heat is on and functional. He was aware of the tendency of the staff member to be rude ("He gets really flustered when he is busy and gets that way"), and said he was too understaffed to have people make sure the heat is on.Ah well...guess I won't be back, though the room was really well kept and the hotel itself was very nice. It isn't worth it even at the price.
