“three problems”

Great hotel; good price; perfect location for me. BUT there were three problems. first, when I checked in I did not have my Wyndham membership number; the clerk told me to go into the business center, use a computer, and look it up. I did not do this, so lost points. But the next night I moved to a Marriott property, did not have my membership # and the clerk took my phone number and in 14 seconds had looked up my number and placed it on my invoice. Nice. No reason why Wyndham can't do this. second, I lay down in my bed and turned on the table lamp, and the switch collapsed into the base of the lamp, which meant I had to plug and unplug the lamp to turn it off and on; and then the television did not work properly: only accessed 8 channels. I reported this to the desk; he offered to move me to a different room, and I declined.Third, at 2:30 in the morning, the fire alarm sounded; we were all roused out of bed and stood around in the lobby while the manager on duty search frantically for a key to access the switch. We waited until the fire trucks arrived. Perhaps it was a smoker in one of the rooms; perhaps a faulty switch. Whatever: but after about 35 minutes we all went back to bed. But this is just about the worst thing to happen to a tired traveler, and I think the hotel should have made a monetary adjustment to everyone's bill or given us a voucher. This same thing happened in January at a Grand Hyatt in Atlanta and everyone in the very large hotel was given a $25 food voucher at the in-house bar. (and compare both to Enterprise: 10 days ago I discovered a blood-soiled tissue under the seat of a rental car; when I reported this when returning the care (without asking for or expecting any adjustment), the clerk immediately said, "I am sorry. Let me take off a full day's charge=$59); I was surprised and please, one of the reasons why I had an Enterprise car with me when I checked into the Wingate Wyndham. So there's my story!
