“Not Close to What others have writted about this hotel”

  , Sequim
We arrived dead tired on Saturday evening, October 6. Upon calling the hotel to get a shuttle, we were informed that they would call us a cab and pay for the transportation. The cab never arrived but we managed to hitch a ride with five other travellers who did have a cab (that's seven of us in a cab...) Upon arriving at the hotel, the cab driver charged the hotel $16 for a 1.7 mile trip....We went to our room (#232), which had two queen beds. I pulled back the covers to the bed to find candy wrappers and number of human hairs. I decided to sleep with my wife in the other bed. I changed into sleepwear and went to hang up my clothes in the closet, only to find a pile of used towells (apparently from the previous guest???). I then noticed that some sort of snack chip remnants were sprinkled on the floor along with a variety of small pieces of paper (even more small papers were discovered between the bed with the candy wrappers and the outside wall of the hotel). It was obvious to me that housekeeping believed the "candy wrapper bed" had not been slept in, that they never checked the closet in the room, and they never vacuumed the room, that they never checked the closet after the last tenants, or that they vacuumed the floor..As I said, we were so tired that my wife opted to sleep in one of the queen beds rather than start over again in another room.In the morning, I wrote up a list of what I found in our room and the receptionist was quite concerned. She indicated that she would give the note to the "head housekeeper" - I wondered why the note wasn't given to the General Manager???This was our first time staying at the Wingate Hotel - and it will definitely be our last time. We chose this hotel based on reviews posted on Trip Advisor. It is obvious to me that this property has some severe cleanliness issues, and customer satisfaction is apparently not important to Wingate since no one bothered to even come up to the room to verify our concerns. Perhaps this is because we booked the room through hotels.com.???
