“Overbooking - no rooms available - even with reservations”

This was to be a 3 night visit. I used Booking.com. It was a big mistake. Not only did the Wingate Hotel not have our RESERVED room, but they also took a ton of time finding something else for us. They were also not forthcoming with information about what was actually going on with the reservation. I had a confirmation code and reservations. We were "lucky" enough to be able to have a room on 6/21, but 6/22 was completely sold out. To add insult to injury, they found us a "comparable" hotel a few miles away (Sleep Inn Suites). It was not at all comparable. Wingate did offer to have us come back to stay with them on 6/23 - which would have involved moving rooms 3 times. Not a good impression with Wingate or Booking.com. Will not be staying/using the services again. Neither party offered any type of compensation. It took a ton of time away from our vacation, and added unnecessary stress. Advice: Don't use booking.com or this Wingate hotel. If you have already made reservations with booking.com it would be wise to double check if you really have reservations at all, or if the reservations will be honored.
