“Last Time I Stay at This Hotel!”

  , Pensacola
Having stayed at this hotel on at least a half dozen other occasions, my husband and I decided to stop by again on our way home from spending Christmas in Key West. As we were checking in a very large group of 20-somethings dressed in running clothes were in in the lobby area being given what turned out to be instructions for a track tourney that was being held in Tallahassee the next morning. Sadly we should have left right then and there because that evening my husband and I were kept up til around 2am by those track stars running up and down the hallway of the hotel laughing loudly and at times yelling to one another. On 3 different occasions I got up, opened the door to our room and gave them a dirty look but because I didn't want to start a big stink with the front desk, just went back to bed and hoped they'd quiet down and go to bed. Next morning around 8am, my husband and I decided to go to the Continental breakfast but were again very upset when at least a couple dozen track stars hogged the entire buffet line and even started letting their friends cut in line in front of us. After making our displeasure at their behavior very clear, we decided to go complain to the front desk, whereupon we stood there for well over 5 minutes waiting for someone to come from behind a back wall. No one ever came to the front desk, even though I yelled "hello, anybody home?" at least twice. We finally decided to just leave and went and loaded our car back up and left the room keys on the desk in the room. A few minutes after leaving the hotel, I decided to call the hotel manager and when he got on the phone and I explained to him what all had happened and how upset we were, he basically blew me off by saying something along the lines of "well, sometimes the athletes can be a bit rowdy but we just ignore them"....at that point I just hung up on him and decided to call the corporate office. Corporate took my complaint but told me that the General Manager of the hotel is also the hotel's owner and that my complaint would have to be sent to him to be resolved, which I explained to the Corporate rep., I had already done. What a waste of my time and I will NEVER stay at that hotel again.
