“Poor Service, Long Wait, Needs Upkeep”

The location is the reason I booked this hotel, and I have stayed at other Wingates and had great experiences. However, this was not a great experience. First, I had to wait forever to check in. I got there at 3:30 and check in is at 3. No rooms were ready, and we had to wait for the front desk person to walk around and find out when a room would be available. I will say, the front desk lady did say she was sorry, but if we get there after check in time, and I already paid for the hotel in advance, I should not have to wait. Second, housekeeping only provided us with 2 towels, yet when I reserved the room, I listed 4 people. They had to come around and knock on every single room door and ask if anyone needed towels.Third, the room. The walls are not well insulated. We could hear people running around all night long. The fridge also did not work properly. The knob was apparently broken on the temperature. We found this out the hard way after leaving drinks in there just for them to end up frozen by the end of the night. And it had a constant dripping ALL night long. We finally had to get up and turn on the vent in the bathroom just to try and drown out the noise.Lastly is the vending machines and free breakfast. There were not any drinks in the vending machine the entire trip. We had to go next door to the gas station just to get a few drinks to have during our stay. The breakfast was also really bad. I didn't expect gourmet, but I did expect it to be decent. At one point everyone was waiting in line for biscuits and there were only a couple (not enough for everyone), and the staff walked over with fresh biscuits and mumbled that there were too many people in line and left. She came back once everyone sat down. Overall rude.
