“Horrible Experience”

The hotel room offered a bed that was completely unacceptable for anyone to sleep on. The body imprints on both sides of the mattress were literally six inches below the original top of the mattress. It was after 1:30 am when I climbed into bed and wasn't about to deal with moving rooms at that hour in my exhausted state. Spoke with Patti Bahr at desk and she agreed to refund but had to coordinate with Lisa Brent. For three days I had to call back to request followup. Each time Patti said I would hear back from her at the very least THAT day and each time I did not hear back. I finally spoke with Lisa on 7/24/14 and was very direct and succinct in recalling my experience and expressing my frustration for having to followup multiple times while on vacation. Lisa interrupted several times trying to offer a 50% refund. I explained that Patti and I had already agreed upon a full refund and that due to the need to have to followup multiple times with no action taken by Wingate a full three days later, that I would not accept the 50% offer and explained that if she couldn't follow through with the full refund as agreed, that I would simply dispute the charge with American Express. Lisa launched into a tirade about how rude I am to any other human being, insulting me with condescending lip service such as overly dramatized, "ohhhhhhh, I am soooooooo sorry for your inconvenience and since you clearly are a hateful person who is completely incapable of being kind to another human being, I will go ahead and do this for you." She went on and on and didn't allow me to continue in the conversation and after several other name calling phrases and overtly condescending jabs, she agreed to a full refund and literally hung up on me. I am floored. This is management? This is how she speaks to a client--especially one that had a very legitimate complaint, politely shared that with the hotel management that morning and then with her, and was simply following up on what had already been agreed to. NEVER again Wingate....andI will be sure to post my experience on EVERY travel review site I can find so others can avoid this property. I could have paid half what I paid down the road at one of the budget inns and I guarantee it would have been a better experience than my interaction with the Wingate management staff.
