“bed bugs=little sleep”

I checked into my room after a long drive. I dropped the luggage and lay down on the bed with my two young children to relax and watch tv for a bit. After about 10 minutes the kids start to play. My 3 year old grabbed a pillow from behind my head. I noticed a black dot on it and when I took a closer look, there was a bed bug. It was a classic text book bed bug. I called the desk immediately and they promptly moved us to another room. I showed the bed bug to the worker who brought us the new room key and got out of that room. The front desk called and said they were taking $35 off of our stay and apologized and explained they try to train their staff to try to minimize the risks of bed bugs. I understand this is something the hotel industry is dealing with. It is a risk we all take when staying at any hotel. But the reality of my stay here was a bad experience. I could not sleep the next two nights (the length of my stay) even in a new room. I was constantly looking for more bugs and couldn't relax at all. Also the pool was cold and the surface around the pool was extremely slippery. My three year old slipped and hit his head on the hard surface when he got out of the pool.
