“NOT HANDLED WELL”

Hotel was nice and room was excellent. However the morning of our departure a water line broke and well my wife was in the middle of a shower with wet soapy. Hotel staff knocked on the door and told us the sprinklers were going off and to evacuate the building. After standing outside for ten minutes we learned it was not the sprinklers however waterlines broke so the water was shut off which I understand. So I went back in and had to grab our things and leave without being able to get ready for the event we traveled to town for. Plus my wife was outside with wet hair so we had to go elsewhere to shower and get ready and were late for our engagement. When I stopped at the front desk the young man working said there would be no refund of the bill as it was out of his control. I felt the way the staff handled the problem was not right. After calling the hotel three times I contacted Wyndham and was told they would forward my complaint to the hotel and it would be settled within ten days. Two days later the hotel called and offered a 15% discount however that didn't come close to having to be evacuated with wet soapy hair in the middle of winter. A refund of my room or a voucher for a future stay would have been much better solution.
