“Great hotel but breakfast service needs improvement”

We found this hotel to be clean and its room large and comfortable. Our check-in attendant was extremely helpful,he was ready for our arrival and very pleasant. The blonde young woman the following day was also extremely helpful, calling around to find out what restaurants would be open on Christmas. The garbage can in our room was not empty upon arrival, and our safe deposit box in the room didn't work. Aside from that, the exercise room was great, as was the business center though speed of internet wasn't super fast. Main problem was with breakfast. There was no attendant available, so ran out of mugs, milk jug was empty and never refilled, waffle machine was acting strange and juice dispenser wasn't turned on. The first day there was no oatmeal, second day there was and I was looking forward to it on third day, but there wasn't any. No fruit at all available until third morning, and when ran out wasn't replaced. I had to ask for more. There was no oil spray for waffle maker, one day the timer wasn't working on it, either, so we had some waffle troubles! I have been to other comparable hotels where there is a person assigned to the breakfast, repleneshing what runs out and checking if we need anything, wiping down messes, etc. None of that here. It may have been because we were there over Christmas and they were understaffed. But the hotel is lovely and rooms great. We bought passes to water park and my daughter loved it!
