“I will most likely not ever book another room at a Wingate...”

I will most likely not ever book another room at a Wingate hotel again. I had booked my room for 4 over a month ago, which in the online details and per the reservation rep was for a handicap accessible King size bed and pull out sofa, which was all that was left available. Upon my arrival the front desk attendant was friendly and stated that the room was a handicap accessible and would have the 1 King bed and sofa. She gave me the key and when my family and I get to the room, there was no sofa. I go ask the front desk attendant about the sofa and she ended up calling her GM who stated that the handicap accessible rooms do not come with sofa's as a safety hazard/precaution. I did not understand that since the website and reservation rep stated that there would be a sofa. After I asked the attendant what we were supposed to do since there was no sofa and 4 of us in a room, she told me that there was a cancellation for room with a King bed for one night and I would have to pay for it. I told her that was not acceptable since it was not my fault that the room did not have what was advertised, so she gave me the customer service number to call. I called the number and spoke to a customer care rep who I explained the entire situation to and then she asked to put me on hold. Next thing I know she had transferred me to account management and I had to re-explain the situation again. Shortly after I spoke to the account mangament rep, she placed me hold and got back on the line and let me know to go to the front desk because I will be given another room. I thanked her and went to the front desk. I stood there while the attendant was on her cell phone for a couple of minutes. Once she got off the phone she started typing on the computer and did not acknowledge me until she asked me if anything had be used in the room. After telling her that the bathroom and bed were used, she started typing and shaking her head as if she was bothered that the room was used in the 15 minutes we were there. Once she finished on the computer she gave me the new key to the room without a "sorry for the inconvenience" or anything. I felt as though we caused her an inconvenience. The new room had a King size bed and pull out sofa and was not handicap accessible. We turned the ac on low and later that night when we came back to the room, the carpet was really damp in the area by the ac unit. Unfortunately I did not report, as I was tried and was not up to another bad experience.
