“dissatisfied customer”

When II made this reservation itr was for a dbl queen handicap room with roll in shower. I was told all the handicap rooms had roll in showers. I call back two more times, once making an additional reservation and confirmed again that all rooms had roll in showers. On my last call I asked the agent if there was an attached bench in the shower or a chair. She went and looked and then told me that only the handicap rooms with a roll in shower was a king and that there was a bench. I question her a couple of times that it had to be attached not moveable. When we arrived and check the rooms the shower was not an option as the benchl was not attached and would turn over with me trying to transfer as the only bar in the shower was too high for me to use and there also was a lip I had to roll across. I had to use the dbl queen with a tub which also presented a problem with me transferring into a tub. We also asked that the bed be lower as there is on way I can get into a raised bed. At every hotel I've stayed at they just pop the extenders off of the leg of the bed to lower it. The agent call me at 9:30pm and told me they couldn't do that and I was welcome to leave, I had 2 small childtren with me and they were asleep not to mention there was probably no availability on a Friday night at that time of night. We lower the bed ourselves and made do with the tub situation out of neccessity. The manager was there when we checked in and he lower our rate from $105 to $99 for one night and gave us a comp rollaway which I don't think was approiate. I had reservation at a Hampton for the same weekend at $89/night but we changed so that we could all be in the same hotel and I thought he would have at least matched their price if not given us one night free. This would have been a wonderful weekend with my family if not for this experience with Wingate. It really started the weekend off on the wrong foot.
