“Long Drive”

Made reservations with confirmation and guarenteed with credit card. Drove 600 miles just to find out our rooms had been given away that we had reserved. When booking the room the desk clerk said all they had left for our 2 night stay was king suites. I booked those. Upon arriving the same clerk said they had over booked and had to change us to "different" 2 double bed rooms. Now as I previously said the king suites was all they had when booking but some how they could move us to double beds when we arrived?? Worst bed I have ever slept in. Our rates for the king beds were less than they usually charge and I suspect they were able to to rent them for full price and was probably the reason we were "moved" but the biggest thing is being lied to by the staff. I experienced this about a year ago at another Windom hotel where they gave our room away (we confirmed as late arrival) and do you know how hard it is to find a room in Kansas City at midnight? Rest assured they have lost a customer, I do not receive this treatment from Holiday Inn.
