“Concerned”

Stayed here because my daughters team had booked there. i missed the special rate deadline of $69. Ok My fault. called hotel and was quoted $148!!!! More than twice the promotional rate! Front desk person(woman) was snippy and explained that I had missed the deadline and there were only 4 rooms left. Decided to stay somewhere else. Two days later I went on web to search on the hotel's website. The rate was $107 plus a discount making it $90. I booked, then called the hotel to complain about the wild disparity in rates between Hotel's site and the hotel. The calling person was quite nice and apologized. He made a note on my reservation. I arrived at the hotel and overheard the front desk woman (same who had quoted $148; I recognised her voice) reading the note aloud to the person who turned out to be the manager. I walked up and said it was my reservation. She was rude again! and she and the manager went on and on trying to convince me that the system made sense. I said that from the customer's perspective it does not. I called the hotel directly because I like to deal with people, not hotels.com, the the hotel's own website contradicts the desk quote by $40-$50. They badgered me so long I had to leave before moving my things into the room, so as not to miss my daughter's game. Later I discovered that my room had some wierd water damage on the floor and wall, in the corner at an adjoining door, with what was either mold or mineral deposits. I wasn't going to deal with those women again. I declined maid service Sat. and told the maid and front desk (different woman) on Sunday at check out. I moved the chair that had been hiding the damage. As it turns out, there were many hotels in that area. I would never stay at that one again and probably never a Wyndam Hotel again. This was my first time at one. I am not suggesting that what the women said was inaccurate, but that they do not deal effectively with the public. Wyndham should also revise its reservation policies to better reflect an appropriate pricing scale between their own hotel and that hotel's own website to avoid resentment. At $148 it is no surprise that the same 4 rooms were still available 2 days later!
