“Good service, decent hotel”

  , Flint
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and courteous/professional. However, there were some negatives to this hotel. The beds are very tall. This is fine, but as a personal preference I do not like it as I am short. I am sure tall people love it. Our room had a loose handle on the bathroom door and it would not lock. Also, the toilet would not stop "running" (made a dripping sort of sound constantly). I told the front desk and they did offer me another room, but I declined; I just wanted them to be aware. I thought it was great that they were willing to switch rooms for me! We just closed the door to block the sound, and made sure we didn't walk in on one another! The pool was small and the hot tub reeked of over-chlorination. The small pool was O.K. I guess, but the hot tub issue was disappointing to me as I was traveling for the first time in years without my children, and I was looking forward to a long soak in the hot tub. The overwhelming chemicals choked me out of there. The last minor complaint I have is about the breakfast. The eggs were disgusting. We thought it was just a mistake the first day, so we tried them again on day two. No mistake, they are just gross. The first day, the bacon was burned. The second day, it wasn't, but it was still lower-quality bacon (I think it might have been the pre-cooked stuff?) On the other hand, the sausages were very good and there were plenty of options for people who were not watching their carbohydrate intake (as I happen to be).
