“Ususally Excellent...But...”; Feb 18, 2013 T W, Robson; We stay at the Wingate at least three or four times a year on either end of our holiday to "stay and fly". The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and the continental breakfast is pretty good! However, this last stay, I requested an early check-in when we returned after our trip. I was reassured that this would be fine, and even called the day before our arrival to re-confirm. When we arrived at the hotel (after 16 hours of overnight travel with two young children), our room was not ready. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the wait (1 hour) was frustrating. I would definately consider another location if special room requests were necessary.
